While the Community Investment Department does not maintain housing facilities, we do work with local organizations and government agencies to provide housing and homeless resources.
Resources and programs listed below will help connect you with housing assistance, tenant counseling, home modification, and supportive housing options for older adults.
Housing Rights Center
The Housing Rights Center provides fair housing services to residents of Los Angeles County, including updated affordable housing listings, landlord/tenant counseling, discrimination investigations, outreach, and education.

City of Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD)
The Los Angeles Housing Department produces, preserves and protects safe and affordable housing for all Angelenos in all neighborhoods. To explore all LAHD resources, visit housing.lacity.gov.
Handyworker Program
The Handyworker Program is a home modification program designed to help seniors and those living with disabilities live independently for longer and age in place. Handyworker partners with licensed general contractors for minor home repairs and accessibility improvements at no cost to eligible homeowners and caregivers. Age and income limits apply.

Accessible Housing Program

File a Housing Complaint
LAHD investigates many types of housing violations in the City of Los Angeles. If you have been a victim of unfair rent increase or eviction, a code violation or have an accessibility complaint, you can file with LAHD online. Visit LAHD's File a Complaint page.
Affordable Living for the Aging Shared Housing Program
The Shared Housing Program provides affordable housing, supportive services, and alternative housing options for low-income and formerly homeless older adults who may not wish to live alone or cannot afford to do so. Housing providers can join the program to share their homes with compatible, pre-screened housing seekers who can pay monthly rent for available rooms, offer assistance with household chores, or both. Housing seekers must be mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially self-sufficient. The organization will screen providers and seekers, match compatibility, and execute living agreements.

Public Housing and Section 8
The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) offers a range of programs for low-income residents, homeless, disabled, children, and older adults.

Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA)

Safe Parking LA
Safe Parking LA is Los Angeles's largest safe parking program and the only provider of safe lots exclusively focused on vehicular homelessness. The program provides safe parking options, and their locations include access to a restroom facility and a security guard.

Pathway Home
The Pathway Home Program, provided by the LA County Homeless Services and Housing Department, brings people off the streets and into immediately available interim housing accompanied by a comprehensive suite of supportive services and, ultimately, into safe, permanent homes. The program also removes unsafe recreational vehicles (RVs) and other debris from community spaces, whether freeway underpasses or side streets, returning them to their intended uses.
