Wellness and Safety for Older Angelenos

Staying healthy, safe, and confident as you age is not just possible, it’s something you deserve. The Community Investment Department offers practical tools, trusted programs, and community partnerships designed to support your well-being every day.

This is your starting point, whether you’re looking to manage your health, prepare for emergencies, understand your housing options, or get help navigating legal challenges.

The File of Life (FOL) program ensures first responders have your vital medical information during an emergency. The program is offered free to persons 60 years and older.

We have partnered with the Center for Health Care Rights to provide the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) to Medicare enrollees. The program educates healthcare consumers on how to advocate for themselves. If you need counseling and advocacy services or are interested in applying for training to become a state-registered HICAP Volunteer Counselor, you can contact:

Oasis Institute is a national nonprofit educational organization designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults.
